Le quatrième concert LESLAN à Tahoua

Le quatrième concert de Music for Freedom à Agadez a eu lieu à l’occasion de la Journée internationale pour l’abolition de l’esclavage le 2 décembre 2021 à l’Alliance Française d’Agadez (AFA). Le concert et la campagne d’information ont été très réussis et ont reçu à la fois un accueil chaleureux et d’excellents commentaires. L’un des principaux objectifs de ce concert était de partager des messages de liberté avec les jeunes, et de rappeler aux jeunes le rôle qu’ils peuvent jouer en tant qu’agents de changement dans la lutte contre l’esclavage au Niger.

Sage Soldat, coordinateur de Music for Freedom de LESLAN, a rallié une équipe de musiciens nigériens unis pour sensibiliser le public sur la persistance des pratiques esclavagistes dans le pays. Le concert était cette fois scindé en deux parties. La première partie, communément appelée le « lever de rideau », a vu la participation d’artistes bien connus au Niger dont : Ham D Mallam, Obaz, Saint Man, Ram King, et MC Targui qui ont vivré le public avec différents styles musicaux allant du rap au chant en Tamashek. La deuxième partie du concert a présenté des musiciens nouveaux et émergents non encore connus dans le domaine public et leur a fourni une excellente occasion de se produire à l’Alliance Française d’Agadez.

La campagne d’information qui comprenait une tournée de quatre écoles, des conférences et la distribution d’affiches, a attiré la présence et la représentation de plusieurs écoles d’Agadez et de l’Université d’Agadez au concert. Parmi le public il y a eu des enseignants de différentes écoles d’Agadez, dont le groupe AKOMILI à Agadez ; représentants des structures de jeunesse. Une campagne médiatique en ligne a également contribué à la préparation du concert. Sage Soldat a apprécié les retours que lui et tous les artistes ont reçus et a été visiblement ému. Il a déclaré : « J’ai encore le sentiment d’avoir partagé un moment de joie à Agadez, et d’avoir créé une rencontre émouvante avec le public. Je suis donc satisfait d’avoir atteint un tel objectif ».

The fourth Music for Freedom concert in Agadez was held on the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery Date on December 2, 2021 at the Alliance Française d’Agadez (AFA). Both the concert and the information campaign were successful and received both warm welcome and great feedback. One of the main aims of this concert was to share messages of freedom with young people, to remind young people the role they can play as agents of change in the fight against slavery in Niger.

Once again, LESLAN’s Music for Freedom coordinator Sage Soldat rallied an excellent team of musicians united in the cause of raising awareness of the persistence of slavery in the country. The concert was this time split into two parts. The first part, commonly called the « raising of the curtain », saw the participation of established nigérien young artists including: Ham D Mallam, Obaz, Saint Man, Ram King, and MC Targui who roused the public with different musical styles ranging from rap to singing in Tamashek. The second part of the concert showcased new and upcoming musicians not yet known in the public domain and provided an excellent opportunity for them to perform at the Alliance Française d ‘Agadez.

The information campaign which included a tour of four schools, talks and distribution of posters drew the presence and representation of several schools in Agadez and the University of Agadez to the concert. Included in the audience were teachers from different schools in Agadez, including the AKOMILI group in Agadez; representatives of youth structures. An online media campaign also added to the buzz surrounding the concert and the public came in large numbers. Sage Soldat appreciated the feedback both he and all the artists received and was visibly moved. He said ‘I still have the feeling of having shared a moment of joy in Agadez, and of having created an emotional encounter with the public. I am therefore satisfied to have achieved such a goal’.
