Lauréats du deuxième prix d’art LESLAN / Winners of the second LESLAN Art Prize
Le premier prix est revenu, pour la deuxième fois, à Monsieur Boubacar Djibo pour « Le visage de la liberté ». Le deuxième prix a été attribué à Abdou Issoufou pour « Liberté Source de Vie » et le troisième prix à Kadri Hamadou pour « Les pages qui nagent ». Toutes nos félicitations aux gagnants et à tous les artistes qui ont soumis leurs œuvres et consacré leur art et leur créativité à la lutte contre l’esclavage.
The first prize went once again, for the second time, to Mr Boubacar Djibo for “The Face of Freedom”. The second prize was awarded to Abdou Issoufou for “Liberté Source de Vie” and the third prize to Kadri Hamadou for « The pages that swim ». Many congratulations to the winners and to all the artists who submitted their works and devoted their art and creativity to the fight against slavery.
LESLAN Prix 2022
Le Projet LESLAN annonce le deuxième Prix LESLAN Art 2022. Comme en 2019 le Prix LESLAN Art demande aux artistes nigériens, hommes et femmes, d’interpréter le thème de l’esclavage à travers leur sensibilité et créativité. LESLAN continue à associer les artistes nationaux (arts visuelles) à la lutte contre les héritages de l’esclavage et la discrimination fondé sur l’ascendance.

The LESLAN Project announces the second LESLAN Art Prize 2022. As in 2019, the LESLAN Art Prize asks Nigerien artists, men and women, to interpret the theme of slavery through their sensitivity and creativity. LESLAN continues to associate national artists (visual arts) with the fight against the legacies of slavery and descent-based discrimination.

LESLAN Prix 2019
Le projet LESLAN annonce deux concours à l’échelle nationale pour la meilleure composition d’école et la meilleure œuvre d’art sur le thème de l’esclavage. Les oeuvres des lauréats seront exposées à l’exposition LESLAN (15 octobre – 15 décembre 2019) et sur ce site Web.
Le but de ces prix est de stimuler la réflexion et l’engagement sur le problème de l’esclavage et de son héritage au Niger aujourd’hui. Les écoles sont des sites d’éducation civique par excellence, où l’on peut apprendre aux jeunes élèves, filles et garçons, à réfléchir de manière critique aux formes d’exploitation historiques et contemporaines, ainsi qu’aux luttes pour les éliminer. Le prix stimulera la discussion dans les classes, en ville et en brousse, aux niveaux primaire et secondaire. Les travaux des étudiants les plus inspirants enrichiront le projet LESLAN avec les perceptions des plus jeunes citoyens.

Le Prix ‘art’ demande aux artistes nigériens, hommes et femmes, d’interpréter le thème de l’esclavage à travers leur sensibilité et expertise dans le domaine esthétique. Les mots ne sont pas le seul moyen de dénoncer les maux sociaux. LESLAN souhaite associer les artistes nationaux (arts visuelles) à son processus de recherche et activisme. LESLAN invite les artistes nigériens au dialogue engagé en ce moment, où l’art africain est au premier plan du monde artistique mondial, avec des foires importantes telles que la Biennale Dak’Art. Cette initiative va créer une plate-forme susceptible d’accroître la visibilité de leurs travaux sur la scène nationale, continentale et internationale; et intégrer la contribution des artistes aux objectifs anti-esclavagistes de LESLAN.

LESLAN PRIZES
The LESLAN project announces two national competitions for the best school composition and the best work of art on the subject of slavery. The winners’ works will be exhibited at the LESLAN exhibition (15 October – 15 December 2019) and on the LESLAN website.
The purpose of these awards is to stimulate reflection and engagement on slavery and its legacies in Niger today. Schools are civic education sites par excellence, where young people can be taught to think critically about historical and contemporary forms of exploitation, as well as struggles to eliminate them. The award will stimulate discussion in the classroom, in the city and in the countryside, at the primary and secondary levels. The most inspiring student work will enrich the LESLAN project with the perceptions of Niger’s youngest citizens.
The ‘art’ prize asks Nigerien artists, men and women, to interpret the theme of slavery through their sensitivity and expertise in the aesthetic field. Words are not the only way to denounce social ills. LESLAN wants to associate national artists (visual arts) with its research and activism. At a time when African art is at the forefront of the world artistic scene, with important fairs such as the Dak’Art Bienniale, LESLAN invites Nigerien artists to an engaged dialogue. This initiative will create a platform that can increase the visibility of their work at the national, continental and international levels; and to integrate artists’ contribution to LESLAN’s anti-slavery objectives.
