Aujourd’hui, le 31 décembre 2018, à Nouakchott, a lieu le procès du député mauritanien et président de l’organisation anti-esclavagiste Ira-Mauritanie, Biram Dah Abeid et de son codétenu Abdallahi Houssein Messoud. Les deux militants des droits de l’homme sont défendus par un groupe d’avocats du barreau mauritanien. Depuis très tôt ce matin, des militants et des sympathisants du mouvement abolitionniste se sont rassemblés devant le tribunal correctionnel en attendant le résultat. L’équipe de LESLAN espère que leur libération marquera l’entrée en 2019.

Today, December 31, 2018, takes place in Nouakchott the trial of the elected member of the Mauritanian parliament and president of the anti-slavery organization Ira-Mauritania, Biram Dah Abeid and his fellow prisoner Abdallahi Houssein Messoud. The two human rights activists are defended by a group of lawyers from the Mauritanian Bar. Since very early this morning, activists and sympathizers of the abolitionist movement have gathered outside the correctional court waiting for the outcome. Their liberation would be a wonderful start to the new year. LESLAN’s team hopes that their liberation will mark the entry into 2019.
