Biram dah Abeid, President of IRA Mauritania, discusses the recent changes in Mauritania’s political orientations since the advent to power of President Ghazouani. Signs of positive changes allow for hope that change is coming, but much remains to be done for the restoration of rights and opportunities to the most marginalised groups. While hope is allowed, human rights militants remain lucidly aware of the challenges ahead.
